Emily Furr is from Rome, Georgia where she lived until she moved to Milledgeville to attend Georgia College & State Univeristy. Emily graduated from Georgia College & State University in May 2001 with a BS in Early Childhood Education. Following graduation, she married the love of her life, Brandon Furr, & moved to Ft. Worth, Texas while he attended seminary at Southwestern Theological Seminary. During that time, Emily taught First Grade at Mound Elementary in the Burleson ISD. While at Mound, she attended the Texas First Grade Reading Academy & developed a love for teaching children the foundations of reading. In June 2003, Brandon & Emily felt the Lord leading them back to Milledgeville for Brandon to serve as the Associate Pastor at Northside Baptist Church. Emily taught Pre-K at the Early Learning Center in the Baldwin County School System before coming to John Milledge Academy in the Fall of 2004 to teach Kindergarten.
Brandon & Emily have 2 children Bethany (JMA 4th grade) & Caleb (JMA 1st grade). Emily is grateful for the family atmosphere that John Milledge provides not just for her professionally, but for her children as well. Emily feels blessed to be able to teach at a school where she is able to combine her faith in Jesus Christ with her love for teaching.
